Welcome to Reading the New Testament. My goal for this site is to help people connect more intimately with God’s word. By reading the New Testament directly from the Greek, I hope to bypass most of the distractions involved with reading from any specific translation. And don’t worry. You don’t need to know Greek to follow along, as I will be providing ad hoc, casual translations throughout.
This site is meant to provide leisurely readings. Not stuffy, academic, overly analytical ones. The type of reading one might do on a chilly winter evening while sitting in front of a crackling fire. My intention is not to diminish the importance of analytical studying. But rather to pull back the curtain that all too often obscures and hinders people from gaining a more intimate understanding of the Bible.
The main set of articles (posts, pages, whatever) systematically goes through the New Testament, chapter by chapter. These posts are then used as the basis for video readings, posted in tandem on my YouTube channel. Along with this are some articles on related subjects, including some resources for those who want to know more about the Greek language of the New Testament.
I’ll edit this About page periodically. As of today, I have zero content on the site. I’m writing this in faith that God will help me get this project off the ground, and that it will prove to be helpful in at least one person’s walk with the Lord. My prayer is that by presenting the true Jesus of the New Testament in as unfiltered a way as possible, that people will come to know the Truth. If you’ve found this page and appreciate the value of this mode of sharing the gospel, please join with me in prayer for the salvation of everyone who may find their way here.
